A safe place
The Canterbury Community Safety Partnership is committed to making the district safer and reducing anti-social behaviour. The partners work together to ensure that local concerns and priorities are addressed.
CCTV and Lifeline
The Community Safety Unit provides a Closed Circuit Television service to help provide a safer environment, with the camera network monitored and recorded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The unit also operates Canterbury Lifeline, a 24-hour personal alarm service, for more than 2,000 clients. Contact Canterbury Lifeline on 01227 862540.
Neighbourhood Watch groups are run by volunteers and work closely with the Police and local councils. To find out more about local groups visit Canterbury and District Neighbourhood Watch Association.
Canterbury District Watch operates in partnership with Kent Police and Canterbury City Council.
The aim is to provide a safe environment within town and city centres and surrounding communities.
District Watch runs a radio scheme with local shops, restaurants, cafes and licensed premises sharing information by alerting each other to the behaviour of rowdy people and criminals operating in the area. Visit the Canterbury District Watch website.
