Parents in Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable have been reminded about safer parking around schools as part of a multi-agency operation to improve road safety and reduce the risk of harm to pupils.

Teams from Kent Police, Canterbury City Council and Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) have made unannounced visits to schools at closing time to speak to those who have parked cars in dangerous places and educate them on the possible consequences, such as injuries to children. Anyone parked on zig-zag lines will be issued with a fine.
